Since 1976, Johnson Schock Lowden Inc. (JSL) has provided employee benefits consulting services and practical health management programs to our clients, both large and small. What we do

Recent years have brought a considerable increase in the value employees place on a well-managed, comprehensive employer-sponsored benefits plan. Similarly, for an employer, a successful plan has become an important indicator of a well-managed company. Unfortunately, for small companies, providing a thorough, flexible benefits plan comes at what is often a large price. JSL has the products, services and expertise to manage all aspects of your employer-sponsored benefits plan—from a top-down analysis of your current plan to the execution and administration of a self-insured plan—and our team of experts are always available to assist you, your company and your employees plan for a wide range of health and retirement needs.

The success of a benefits plan is based on an effective and well-executed strategy. Using the knowledge gained from over 30 years of experience in the insurance and employee benefits industries, JSL is well positioned to review and manage all of your insurance and retirement needs.

We will regularly review insurance company reports to find the “weaknesses” in your plan and then provide you with the options to improve performance. We recognize the value in analyzing your organization’s specific claim data—rather than accepting the “industry standard.” We also assess our clients’ eligibility for alternative arrangements throughout the year, always ensuring that you have the most efficient, effective plan possible.

How we do it

At JSL, we take a multi-dimensional approach to ensure quality client service: our employees, values and services all focus on you, the client. We recognize that these relationships are dynamic and that needs may change over time. For this reason, we meet with our clients at a minimum annually, to re-assess the strategic direction of your plans and to evaluate your service needs.

We communicate proactively with our clients, producing several publications and resources to keep you informed of industry developments and other important information. Our website and quarterly newsletters provide overviews of new services and other developments that may affect your benefits plans. Further, we always welcome the opportunity to present updates to your employees, managers or benefits committee regarding healthcare and retirement issues that may be affecting your industry or organization. Because, as we believe, the more your employees understand and appreciate their benefits, the better consumers they will become.
